Operation “Femern Belt Platform” is officially on!

Last Thursday, the newly formed FBP Project Team and WG leaders gathered in Copenhagen together with representatives from Femern A/S. The aim of the meeting was to kick-off the concrete work aimed at transforming the Platform from a conceptual idea laid down in the Memorandum of Understanding to a fully-fledged project.

Hosted by Banedanmark at their Traffic Tower East, the neuralgic centre where more than 45,000 daily train departures are monitored using advanced digital technology, the meeting proved a big success. All stakeholders endorsed an action plan based on clear tasks, deliverables, and timelines which will shape our work in the coming months.

Aligning with Femern A/S, we aim to:

• Bring in the market’s perspective into the infrastructure project
• Enlarge the regional scope to Sweden and Norway
• Involve a wide range of interested stakeholders

Together, we will make this Platform a crucial asset allowing us and the market to properly prepare for the Femern Belt Link’s future opening.
