ICM case stops traffic between Scandinavia and the rest of Europe!

ICM case stops traffic between Scandinavia and continental Europe!

Due to the collision of a bus with a railway bridge at Elmshorn yesterday afternoon and the consequent damage caused to the signalling cables, an International Contingency Management (ICM) case according to RNE’s ICM Handbook has been declared on our Corridor.

Since then, the Hamburg – Flensburg / Padborg line has been closed and rail freight traffic brought to a complete halt. Rerouting options are limited to the Kiel – Lübeck diesel line (route class CE) and thus applicable to just a few trains.

The current forecast for re-opening is next Monday, September 9th.

The ScanMed Team will keep you informed on the developments on the ground, hoping for a quick resolution of the ICM case.
