Due to a short-circuit on track 2 at Meitingen station (DE) last Thursday and the consequent damage caused by the fire to the overhead wire, an International Contingency Management (ICM) case according to RNE’s ICM Handbook has been declared on our Corridor.
Since then, the Augsburg – Donauwörth line has been completely close in the Meitingen area. Rail freight traffic has been diverted mainly via Ingolstadt – leading to 30-60 minutes delays –, though some trains have also been rerouted via Ulm (see map below). All regular trains can be diverted, meaning that no cancellations are necessary.
However, in case of special trains the RUs can order the following routes:
- Passau – Regensburg – Nürnberg
- München – Landshut – Regensburg – Nürnberg
- Augsburg – Ulm – Stuttgart
The current forecast for repairs and re-opening on the Augsburg – Donauwörth line in the Meitingen area is this Friday, 26th of July.
The ScanMed Team will keep you informed on the developments on the ground, hoping for a quick resolution of the ICM case.
